Chocolate and Bananas

This comes straight from the heart of Brazil…

Chocolate melted into the middle of bananas, it is heaven to the stomach.

I’m still working on getting it to work just right, but the idea is that you cut a slit into the banana, stuff chocolate into the slit… Stick it into the oven at around 350˚ and leave them for about 10 minutes. It’s a perfect treat for a few friends to enjoy. The best part is trying not to make a mess while pulling it apart and eating.

  1. Becca,
Enjoyed taking in your blog page, especially your photos. You certainly have an artistic eye. Am excited for you that you get to be at the Herrnhut school to not only enhance your skills, but also to participate in the ‘pick-a-pocket’ project – am looking forward to seeing the end product that I’m thinking my son, Paul, may very well be part of, seeing that he’s been attending the same school as you have. Wonder if you might even be on the same outreach team as him in January?
Anyways, the reason I enjoyed your photos so much, is that I teach a couple of film courses at the high school that I teach at. Love working with young people and seeing their enthusiasm show up in their work. I also get to take some of our students out on short term missions trips (two weeks during spring break), the last one being a trip to Cambodia – certainly an eye-opening / impactful experience for all of us. If you should ever have a chance to go, go! Talk about a needy country – over 50% of the population is under the age lf 15. There are still over 3 million land mines that haven’t been deactivated – has the highest aids rate in all of south-east asia because of the sex trade – over 20 000 kids will spend all day going through garbage in the city of Phnom Penh alone, looking for recyclables and on a good day will make the equivalent of a $1 just so they can feed their families. Yup, lots of need in our world, lots of opportunity to go out and make a difference, even if for just one person – that was Mother Theresa’ attitude. Anyways, glad you get to go and make a difference. God bless you and your team, as you prepare for your assignment and bring light and love of God to the place that you’re being sent to.
Have been praying for all of you and the leaders at the school – know about the amazing story of the Moravians and the annointing that was on that group of crazy missionaries, and how God has returned that annointing and is now sending you guys out to carry that same “good news” to people all over the world, that God is real and loves each and everyone incredibly much!
    God bless you!

PS If you happen to bump into Paul, let him know his dad says “hi” and misses his little bud!

  2. This is such a great idea! My mouth is starting to water just thinking about these choco-banana treats!!! :)
